The golden dome of The Islamic Centre majestically dominates Malé’s skyline and is perhaps its most vivid architectural landmark of Malé. In addition those interested in local culture will adore The National Museum, an Edwardian colonial-style building housed in the only remaining building of the former Sultan’s Palace, and containing an amazing collection of former Sultan’s thrones, artillery, ceremonial robes, headgear and other artefacts giving an idea of the unique and rich culture and history of this island nation.
