FRIDAY–TUESDAY: On arrival in Rome we will be met by our Joe Walsh Tours coordinator and transferred to your hotel for five nights on a bed & breakfast basis. We will begin our week with a guided walking tour of the historical centre, taking in some of the city’s best known and best loved sights, such as the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona. During the week we will visit some of the world’s most important Catholic sites; Rome’s four main Basilicas: St Peter’s, St John Lateran, St Paul’s Outside the Walls and St Mary Majors as well as the Holy Stairs and the Holy Cross of Jerusalem Church. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Vatican City, including the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel in our free time. Our trip will also take in the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Circus Maximus, the King Victor Emmanuel Monument and the Pyramid.
WEDNESDAY: Attend Papal Audience in St Peter’s Square on Wednesday morning, subject to the Pope being in Rome. Following the Papal Audience we will travel to Assisi where we will stay for two nights on a half board basis.
THURSDAY-FRIDAY: In the hometown of St Francis, we will visit many sites associated with him, including the 13th century Basilica of St Francis, St Clare’s Basilica and the Porziuncola chapel, which is housed inside the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Enjoy some free time to browse in the shops along the cobble-stoned streets of this beautiful old town where time seems to have stood still. Transfer back to Rome in the afternoon for our return flight to Dublin.

ITINERARY AND FLIGHT DETAILS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. The above tour is dependent upon a minimum of 50 passengers booked to operate. We reserve the right to cancel any tour up to 4 weeks before departure date, if adequate booking levels have not been achieved or maintained. We reserve the right to alter travel arrangements if deemed necessary, in the case of circumstances beyond our control. All accommodation is based on shared twin bedded rooms with facilities. If people wish to share we can arrange this, but please note we may have to use three bedded rooms where numbers are not even.
