FRIDAY: Depart Dublin on a direct flight to Naples. On arrival in Naples Airport, you will be met by your Joe Walsh Tours Pilgrimage co-ordinator, and transferred to your hotel in Benevento for two nights on a half board basis.
Visit the cathedral in Benevento where Padre Pio was ordained in 1910 at the age of 23.
SATURDAY: Today visit Pietrelcina, birthplace of Padre Pio. Our first stop is the friary built on the exact spot where Padre Pio prophesied it would one day stand. Leave the coach and tour the little village on foot to visit the two-room stone house of Padre Pio’s family. Climb up to the single room perched on top of a rock where Padre Pio lived as a hermit for seven years in preparation for his great mission. Mass will be arranged.
SUNDAY: Depart for San Giovanni Rotondo. Arrive at your hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo, where you will stay for five nights on a full board basis.
MONDAY – THURSDAY: Visit the Friary; the cell where the Saint lived and died, the crucifix before which he received the stigmata, the old and new churches, the Way of the Cross etc. Our group will have the opportunity to visit Padre Pio’s tomb and view the exhumed body of the saint. Mass will be arranged daily. Visit Monte Sant’Angelo: the nearby shrine in the cave where the Archangel Michael appeared. Visit St Matthew’s monastery in the nearby town of San Marco in Lamis and take this opportunity to browse through the local markets.
FRIDAY: Early morning departure for Naples airport and return flight to Dublin.

We reserve the right to cancel any tour up to 4 weeks before departure date, if adequate booking levels have not been achieved or maintained. We reserve the right to alter travel arrangements if deemed necessary, in the case of circumstances beyond our control. All accommodation is based on shared twin bedded rooms with facilities. If people wish to share we can arrange this, but please note we may have to use three bedded rooms where numbers are not even.
