On arrival we will be met by our Joe Walsh Tours representative and transferred to the Piccolo Mondo Hotel on Lake Garda for seven nights on a half board basis. Check in and enjoy a free afternoon to relax.   Piccolo Mondo Hotel Situated on the eastern shore of picturesque Lake Garda, the family-run Piccolo Mondo Hotel offers excellent facilities in a friendly and attentive atmosphere. Set amidst luxuriant gardens with an olive grove, the hotel enjoys close proximity to the town and stunning views of the mountains and lake. Day 2 - Day at leisure in Lake Garda Enjoy a day at leisure to explore your surroundings. Why not take an optional boat cruise on the lake or do some shopping in the lovely local boutiques? Day 3 – Venice This morning we travel to Venice for a guided tour taking in St. Mark’s Square, Doges’ Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and many more splendours of this beautiful city. We will have some free time to do our own exploring; take a gondola ride along the Grand Canal, wander through the narrow alleyways, over canals and bridges, or do a spot of shopping for some famous Murano glass or a Venetian Carnival mask. Day 4 - Lake Garda Today your coach will take you on a tour along the Gardesana, one of the most beautiful roads in Europe, with its splendid indigenous flora featuring olive trees, cypresses and beautiful flowers. You will visit several picturesque villages and see monuments dating from the period of Roman, Scaliger, Venetian and Austrian rule. Day 5 – Optional trip to the Dolomites  Today we will enjoy a day at leisure. You may wish to relax at the hotel or explore either by yourself or take part in an optional tour to the Dolomites. Dolomites: Located to the south of the main chain of the Alps, the Dolomites lies between Italy and Tyrol in Austria. Enjoy amazing views of the Catinaccio, Latemar, Sassolungo, Sella and Marmolada mountains. Travel up to Passo Pordi - 2240m above sea level and perhaps take Trentino’s highest cable car up to 2980m. Wander through panoramic Ortisei, famous for its woodcarving industry and see its quaint Tyrolean style houses. Day 6 - Verona Today we visit the picturesque medieval city of Verona. We will have a guided tour taking in the historic city centre, the highlight of which has to be the Ancient Roman Amphitheatre. We will follow the Shakespearian trail to ‘Juliet’s Balcony’, enjoying the narrow streets, beautiful squares and churches along the way. Day 7 – Optional wine tour Today you have the option of joining a wine tour to the renowned Adige Valley. We will enjoy a day in this famous wine growing area where some of the best Trentinos wines (Pinot grigio and Caberte) are produced. You will visit a vineyard where you will be shown some of the methods and techniques of making wines, and of course get to sample some. Day 8 – Departure After breakfast depart for Verona and our return flight to Dublin.
