Day 1: Salzburg Upon arrival you will be transferred to the Austria Trend Hotel Europe where you will enjoy 4 nights accommodation including daily breakfast. Afternoon and evening free to relax or explore your surroundings.
Day 2: Salzburg
After breakfast explore the city of Salzburg via a walking tour. See some of the city’s greatest landmarks and gain an insight its history. No visit to Salzburg can be complete without visiting the house of Mozart, the legendary composer whose works have made Salzburg the cultural capital of Austria. Evening at leisure.
Day 3: Salzburg
After breakfast enjoy a free day for further exploration of this wonderful city. Take advantage of the optional Sound of Music tour. See the original film locations and relive the true story of the von Trapp family, filmed as the 'Sound of Music' in the Salzburg area. Evening at leisure.
Day 4: Salzburg
After breakfast day at leisure. How about attending a Salzburg Schlosskonzerte concert at the beautiful Marble Hall. Over 270 concerts a year take place in the Marble Concert Hall which is also famous as one of the most beautiful wedding halls world-wide. The music performed is mostly Mozart and his contemporaries. Evening at leisure.
Day 5: Salzburg - Vienna
After breakfast you will be transferred to Salzburg train station, where you will take a direct train to Vienna. Enjoying the fantastic scenery en route. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Austria Trend Hotel Ananas, where you will stay for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Afternoon & evening at leisure.
Day 6: Vienna
After breakfast enjoy a delightful sightseeing tour of Vienna. The capital of Austria, Vienna combines beauty and charm with culture, style and sophistication. See the landmarks of Vienna’s imperial past and gain an insight into the cultural and architectural legacy of the country. Evening at leisure.
Day 7: Vienna
After breakfast enjoy a free day for further exploration of this wonderful city. Visit The Spanish Riding School of Vienna, which is the oldest and last Riding School in the world where classic dressage is still practised in its purest form. This Institute was founded in 1572 and its very name gives away the fact that the horses were of Spanish origin. Why not take in a Mozart & Strauss evening concert at Kursalon? Evening at leisure.
Day 8: Vienna
After breakfast enjoy the day free at leisure. You may wish to take an optional half day excursion to the most beautiful sights of the southern part of Vienna Woods. Passing the Roman City of Baden which is famous for its thermal springs, drive through the romantic Helenental valley to the former Mayerling hunting lodge, today a commemorative chapel, where Crown Prince Rudolph together with Baronesse Vetsera died tragically in 1889. In the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz (1133) visit the medieval cloister which houses the remains of the last of the Babenberger. Pass the Höldrichsmühle and arrive at the Seegrotte. After a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe, leave the Vienna Woods and return to Vienna finishing at the Opera House. Evening at leisure.
Day 9: After breakfast depart the hotel to connect with your return flight back to Dublin.
