DAY 01 - SYDNEY - BLUE MOUNTAINS (125 kms)
Collect your car rental either at Sydney airport or Sydney city depot. Commence your drive along the Great Western Highway to the Blue Mountains.
Overnight:  MERCURE RESORT BLUE MOUNTAINS.

THE BLUE MOUNTAINS derive their name from
the ever-present blue haze caused by the sun's rays striking the minuscule droplets of eucalyptus oil which evaporate from the leaves of the dense forest.

LEURA is Aboriginal for lava, and while the Blue Mountains are predominantly sandstone, many volcanic rocks have been found in the area. Of all the mountain resort villages, Leura is probably the most prestigious, as some of the grand houses in the district proclaim.

DAY 02 - BLUE MOUNTAINS / HUNTER VALLEY
(250 kms) Travel north on the Western Highway through the towns of Katoomba, Medlow Bath & Blackheath & Mount Victoria to the Hunter Valley.
Overnight: TALLAWANTA LODGE.

DAY 03 - HUNTER VALLEY / PORT STEPHENS
(95 kms) Time available to explore some of the local wineries. Depart Hunter Valley and travel via Maitland & Raymond Terrace to Nelson Bay & Salamanda.
Overnight:  THE LANDMARK.

PORT STEPHENS is a series of idyllic seaside villages scattered along the crystal clear waterways along the Pacific coast. Famous for its natural unspoilt beauty, the area is known as the "Blue Water Paradise".  White sandy beaches and attractive bays and inlets circle the shores of this estuary, which is 21/2 times the size of Sydney Harbour. Commonly referred to as the "Dolphin Capital of Australia", Port Stephens is best known for its resident population of over 140 bottlenose dolphins.

DAY 04 - PORT STEPHENS / SYDNEY (205 kms)
Commence your return journey to Sydney. Set your vehicle down at the Sydney Airport or Sydney city depot.

DAY 01 -  SYDNEY - HUNTER VALLEY (175 kms)
Collect your car rental & drive to the Hunter Valley passing Toronto and Cessnock en route.
Overnight:  HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS LODGE.

HUNTER VALLEY The Hunter Valley is the oldest wine producing area in NSW, with the first vines being brought there in the 1820's.

DAY 02 - HUNTER VALLEY - PORT MACQUARIE
(269 kms) Today depart Hunter Valley and travel to Raymond Terrace where you join the scenic Pacific Highway.  The best spots are the Pines Picnic Area and Breakneck Lookout. Following the coastline, pass through the resort towns of North Haven, Bonnie Hills and Lake Cathie before arriving at Port Macquarie.

DAY 03 - PORT MACQUARIE - COFFS HARBOUR (175 kms) Depart Port Macquarie and travel towards Coffs Harbour via Kempsey and Nambucca Heads.

COFFS HARBOUR Is a popular year round tourist destination. The combination of golden sand, high mountains, dense luxuriant rainforests, steep banana plantations & clear streams make it a superb holiday area.

DAY 04 - COFFS HARBOUR
Enjoy a full day at your leisure in Coffs Harbour.

DAY 05 - COFFS HARBOUR - BYRON BAY (240 kms) Depart Coffs Harbour via South Grafton and Maclean.
Overnight: LORD BYRON RESORT MOTEL.

BYRON BAY offers a mix of cultures and lifestyles and is a favourite haunt with hippies. Byron - "where the sun first hits the sand" - has a year-round subtropical climate, with summer temperatures dominated by a cooling offshore breeze.

DAY 06 - BYRON BAY - GOLD COAST (105 kms) Leaving Byron Bay, cross the NSW/Queensland border and join the Gold Coast arriving at Surfers Paradise.

DAY 07 - GOLD COAST - BRISBANE (80 kms)
Commence your drive from the Gold Coast to Brisbane via the Pacific Highway. Drop off your rental car at the depot in Brisbane City or Brisbane Airport.
